Kate McKiernan was born in Dallas, raised in Colorado Springs, and schooled at the Theatre School at DePaul University.  Her first foray into playwrighting was for Women's Theatre LA, which premiered her one-act The Wedding Album.  McKiernan is a founding member and a co-artistic director of WolfPack Production Company, and a professional make-up artist.
